Is AI the future of astrology and astrocartography? (No, and here’s why.)

According to the loudest discourse, AI is coming for all of us—especially those of us in technical fields that take a lot of study and effort to learn and apply.

The arguments make sense, but do they hold up in practice?

Read on to find out answers to the questions:

• Can I just put my information into ChatGPT and get a free astrology or astrocartography reading?

• Why is AI astrology often wrong?

• Can I use AI to find the best locations for me based on my astrocartography map?

• Why are reasonable astrologers and astrocartographers are concerned with the use of AI?

• How can you use astrocartography if you can’t afford a reading with a professional?

Q: “Can I just type my data into AI and have it spit out my best locations based on my astrocartography map?”

A: No. AI astrocartography (and astrology) is inaccurate because it’s trained on all available data.

AI is answering your questions using all available information—accurate, inaccurate, and every type of astrology [Chinese, Vedic, Hellenistic, Modern, Intuitive, Vibrational, Esoteric, etc.], all glommed into one dataset.

It’s the same reason a lot of AI recipes are hilariously unusable.

I completely understand that not everyone can afford an astrocartography reading and fully support exploratory DIY astrocartography for beginners—I also now offer some more affordable options to help people DIY (see the bottom of this post!).

That said, it’s important to keep in mind that the more you know, the more accurately and successfully you’ll be able to use your map so I’d recommend just using it casually/for fun or getting help before making any big decisions if you’re just starting out!

To emphasize again, my answer to the questions “Is AI astrocartography accurate?” or “Can I use ChatGPT for astrocartography?”

… is currently no, AI astrocartography and AI astrology is not accurate and, in my opinion, you should not use it nor make any decisions based on it.

Aside from increasingly urgent concerns about drinking water, a livable climate, breathable air, and even users’ brain function that come with using AI in its current iteration, it’s no secret that AI is trained on all available data and is often biased towards telling users what it thinks they want to hear.

This means that at best, it will regurgitate anything it deems relevant (based on what made users happy in the past) in response to your questions—often hallucinating wildly in my experience—including viewpoints from several entirely different types of astrology at once, which simply put, does not yield usable results in most cases.

This may change in the future (hopefully in all senses), but for now, that’s how it is!

Above all, in my personal experience, I typically book in with an astrologer based on our human connection.

I like their approach, energy, and how they articulate things, and I value their personal counsel for my personal chart, life, and moment.

The client-astrologer human connection can never and will never be replaced with AI because AI has no intuition and zero human lived experience—it can’t empathize with you and has only a theoretical understanding of the myriad of experiences life offers us.

Astrology, in my opinion, began as a human response to the human experience—and it should and always will be quintessentially human at its core.

Humans can use tools, but tools can’t replace human intuition, empathy, and connection.

AI is a no for me, but DIY is a yes!
